Survival Mode

We take for granted that our senses are telling us the truth. In fact, the more into “survival mode” we go – the less we can accurately rely on our senses. We sometimes go into shock to hide things from ourselves.
Why?
Because the job of shock is to keep us alive. Shock does a lot of the same things as anesthesia
So in order to grow, we have to heal our shock, and shock can’t heal without conscious energy.
We all have pain, but we don’t have to have suffering.
Consciousness leads to realization; realization brings forth surrender; now the healing begins.

About Martha Phelps Studio ~ creative on purpose

...a meandering journal of a changing life and the unexpected graces it brings. Earlier posts may provide some history, but this series of writings aren't likely to follow a straight line as I explore topics such as raising kids, making choices, self discovery, the impact of change on a family and how to (hopefully) live with balance and purpose. www.marthaphelps.com
