Dear Members of the G.O.P.,

In the last two weeks you’ve shown me that you don’t care about the American realities of freedom, hope, compassion, potential, inclusion and LOVE – for one another and for our nation.

You have made it abundantly clear that you have no respect for women or our health;

you’ve shown me that you don’t care about the health of our environment – for safe water and land, and our precious planet;

you’ve embarrassed the entire nation in the watching eyes of the world by ridiculing and breaking promises with our allies, friends and neighbors;

you’ve spit into the face of Lady Liberty and the US Constitution and advocated to ban people of all ages – because of their religious practices – into my country, OUR country — that was entirely built on the backs of people who came from other places and other religions;

you’ve consorted with people who aren’t trustworthy, and opportunistically – with a disgusting and greedy manner, excused it as “good business,”

and you’ve lied – straight up – LIED! on a daily basis about everything from our national security to the size of crowds to tax returns to the actual mental stability of the puppet you say you are working for.

Why am I surprised that you’ve just gone after the children of the United States?

Those of you who voted for Betsy DeIgnorance – good luck when some of these kids are voting in two – and again in four years.

And good luck when you need a capable doctor or good accountant or kind caregiver for your aging spouse or an honest plumber or safe electrician…..or any other one of the hundreds of people who will grow into their careers in the next several years…..

You screwed with America’s finest resources today: our children. You put their future into the hands of a complete and total idiot.

I’ve been a public school teacher for thirty years. I love my calling; making a truly positive difference the lives of young learners is an honor.

Dear members of the G.O.P. – shame on you for defacing American education with the appointment of a person who knows absolutely nothing about my students and their families, my colleagues and the daily work we strive to do well.

Shame on you for caring less about our children’s lives and futures.

Your progress report in my class right now would read:

G.O.P. is failing his American Ethics class.

G.O.P. struggles to manage his time and resources effectively. He is frequently distracted by socializing instead of tasks at hand, and needs to remember to be respectful of other classmates boundaries.

We have a zero tolerance policy towards bullying in our class, and G.O.P. needs daily reminders that his words and actions are very hurtful.

I strongly urge G.O.P. to seek behavioral counseling, as well as to implement an Individual Education Plan toward improving his attendance, the quality of his academic work, his peer relationships, and frankly – his overall health and wellbeing.
