No Boundaries

Whether over the Atlantic in a wooden ship or wading – holding babies and blankets -across the Rio Grande, the moon has always been witness to the broken-hearted hopeful.

In all of time, no one has ever committed these acts of courage because they were content.
They swim and paddle and pray, looking forward as they leave behind all that they know (which is no longer safe).

Our collective heritage is that we are largely a nation of immigrants, and our highest mandate should be to ease the suffering of those who come seeking shelter. Anything less is a betrayal of humanity.

About Martha Phelps Studio ~ creative on purpose

...a meandering journal of a changing life and the unexpected graces it brings. Earlier posts may provide some history, but this series of writings aren't likely to follow a straight line as I explore topics such as raising kids, making choices, self discovery, the impact of change on a family and how to (hopefully) live with balance and purpose. www.marthaphelps.com
