“Life is Zesty”

I’m not convinced that life is a like a bowl of lemons, nor am I certain that when presented with “lemons” (aka the bitter parts of life) it is necessary to squeeze them to their last drop in an attempt to make them palatable.
As if!
As if by simply throwing sweet at things that are bitter is the best way forward.
I don’t think so.
Life is decidedly messy.
On occasion it is predictably bitter; at other times it is bittersweet. No matter what, we (hopefully) get to chose what to make of the mess we are given and how to turn it into something uniquely our own
Messy life is zesty life.
It is full of flavor and color and is ripe with potential.
I don’t think god gave us lemons for lemonade. I think god gave us lemons to remind us to live zesty messy lives – with gratitude, hope and a little tiny pucker.

About Martha Phelps Studio ~ creative on purpose

...a meandering journal of a changing life and the unexpected graces it brings. Earlier posts may provide some history, but this series of writings aren't likely to follow a straight line as I explore topics such as raising kids, making choices, self discovery, the impact of change on a family and how to (hopefully) live with balance and purpose. www.marthaphelps.com
